About this Garden Plan

All beds are raised in metal oval shaped beds purchased from Amazon (not an option when using the garden planner). The potatoes are in grow bags - working really well and are portable. Berries in one section as strawberries can become overwhelming. Cabbages planted directly in the ground due to their durability and size. All beds are planted based on companion planting to better the success rate. Everything but the blueberry bush and pre existing pear tree have been grown from seed by me (such an long but rewarding process). Tomatoes are caged, we used cattle fencing to make the arching trellis between the cucumbers and cantaloupes, carrots are planted and covered with wet cardboard to ensure germination - once large enough shoots appear this will be removed. Lettuce is planted as an experiment and is in rows (varying kinds). I place small arches over the bed which were purchased on Amazon to hold up a breathable crop cover to provide a cooler temperature and shade. In the extreme heat we water once in the morning and once in the evening. But this also changes based on temperature and expected weather.
